[b]Rising Star 4-H Club Clothing Drive and Household Item Donation
April 16, 2005[/b]
The Rising Star 4-H Club decided to gather donations of clothing and household items to donate to the Humane Society Thrift Store. The Thrift Store provides a good portion of the income that the Humane Society operates with. Our club is very passionate about helping the animals in any way that we can.

Rising Star 4-H Club members wanted to help the community by collecting food for the Blue Mountain Action Council. The BMAC is a non-profit organization that supplies food to all three local food banks. These food banks provide food to needy families throughout the year.
Rising Star members planned to collect and/or buy food for the BMAC in the month of March. Our club was able to gather lots of food, which we delivered to the center on March 29, 2005. MILTON-FREEWATER - The 41 wind turbines that line the hilltops around Umapine have been producing more than power.
``The project has had numerous positive economic impacts on the county and adjacent communities,' Eurus Energy America Corp. states in its first annual report on the Combine Hills Wind Project.
As required by its conditional-use permit, the company recently released the report to the Umatilla County Planning Commission. The 41-megawatt project started commercial operations Dec. 21, 2003.
