SEPTEMBER 13 IS WORLD DAY OF PRAYER

On Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 7:00PM, the Unity Church of Peace will hold a special evening service to observe the 14th Annual Unity World Day of Prayer. World Day of Prayer is an opportunity for humankind to experience a transformation of health, abundance, and love on a global level. This year's prayer focus is world peace. This day of prayer will be a spiritual event in which you can unite in prayer with hearts around the world to establish goodness and peace in your life—in every life. During this sacred time of prayer, we will unite in the love of God that dwells within every person around the world. By praying together, we work together—as peacemakers, ambassadors of love in the world.

This Unity World Day of Prayer event will be an interfaith service featuring the Barbara Eckhardt, the Spiritual Leader from Unity Church of Peace, and Lisa Salemme, a local Sufi Master. Each will speak on the pursuit of Peace from the viewpoint of their respective religious traditions. This event is free and open to the public.

Barbara Eckhardt is a graduate of the Unity School of Christianity Licensed Teacher's Program and recently took final boards in August of '07. She is the Spiritual Leader at Unity Church of Peace.

Lisa Salemme has been a physical therapist for 26 years. Her practice focuses not just on the physical body, but on the whole person through mind and spirit as well. She is a graduate of the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism (formerly the Jaffe Institute). She is a master teacher an-Naqib in the Sufi tradition and a certified teacher for the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism. She has led many workshops both locally and in other cities in the United States . She is committed to help people in need of healing find themselves and connect with their true nature through the Love of God.
