Deceptive Mailing from Vegas, "Motor Vehicle/Award Registration":
Sweepstakes Promotion Company Goes By MANY Names
Spokane, WA - November 11, 2005 - TheLocalBBB has been made aware by a member Dodge dealership that there is a questionable offer hitting our service area.

The dealership had a call from a woman in Spokane saying that she'd been notified by unsolicited mail that she'd won a new 2004 Neon and that she should contact her nearest Dodge dealer in Spokane.

The dealership's first "red flag" was that a 2004 Neon wouldn't be new. The consumer said she sent them $29.95, but didn't have to reveal any personal information other than her phone number.

Our member dealership checked with their Sales Manager and he said another person had come in Saturday with the same type of paperwork but unfortunately he didn't think to copy any of it. That consumer was also instructed to send in $29.99.

The lady they first spoke with refused to bring in the papers because the paperwork said the contest isn't over until 12/31/05 and she doesn't want to get sued "in case this is a legitimate sweepstakes."

Another consumer then came in with the same offer and was nice enough to give the letters to the member. The mailing came from:

Motor Vehicle/Award Registration, Department of Distribution, Regional Office, Financial & Property Awards, DELIVER ONLY AS ADDRESSED, 5015 W. Sahara, Ste. 125, PMB 243, Las Vegas, NV 89146-3407

In the BBB System, this company is known as Sunrise Omni Limited located at 9101 W. Sahara Ave. Suite 105-D8, Las Vegas, NV 89117, phone (702) 252-4626. This company has an unsatisfactory record with the Vegas BBB due to one or more unanswered complaints. Most complaints regard refund issues.

If you have a formal complaint with this company for its deceptive selling tactics and misrepresentation of the offer, we strongly suggest that you be pro-active and file formal complaints where they count!

File a complaint against SUNRISE OMNI LIMITED (using the address provided in the mailing) with the Better Business Bureau Serving Southern Nevada at: www.vegasbbb.org

Also file a formal complaint with your state Attorney General's Office. If your Attorney General's Office gets enough complaints, they will have better reason to address this company's deceptive mailings. Do your part!
