Renowned as real-life rabbits are for their reproductive proclivities, the number of chocolate bunnies in production at Bright's Candies can catch an unsuspecting customer off-guard.
Batches of the fresh milk-chocolate rabbits - kindly emitting their heavenly chocolaty aroma throughout the store - spanned late last week from one end of the business to the next in trays behind the candy case, ice cream freezer and in the kitchen area where co-owner Paul Jenes was creating more.
Cast from 25 molds, the bunnies come in hollow and solid form. Molds account for realistic looking jack rabbits and sweet cartoonish rabbits with large eyes. Some are in pairs, cuddled up to their mother or with a buddy.
