Commercial space may replace Seneca cannery

By Vicki Hillhouse of the Union-Bulletin

Demolition of Walla Walla's last local cannery could make way for a $15 million development at the bustling corner of Ninth Avenue and Rose Street.

New owners of the former Seneca processing plant are planning a major transformation at the 10-acre site.

Ideas proposed would refashion the longtime processing plant site into commercial retail and/or commercial office space, though co-owner Robert Price says nothing has been finalized.

Price confirmed Wednesday that he and Henderson Orchard bought the property.
